Choosing the right photographer for your engagement photos

So you’re in for the long, dreaded search to find the perfect engagement photos – well you have found the right place! Over the years I have seen engagement photos evolve over the year. With the growth of professional photographers, the ability to research and find engagement photo ideas like this, and more and more couples willing to think “out-of-the-box” has led to some of the most creative engagement photos on the planet. So where do you begin? Find the right photographer of course.

There are two routes you can go from here. The first more economical route is using someone you know. I highly encourage couples to not be afraid to take the route of using someone you know as your engagement photo specialist. They tend to know you the best and have the ability to capture your interests in a way that is unique to your relationship. At the same time I have seen this gamble pay off as the photographer will use your piece in their portfolio which can be seen by numerous of other couples down the road.

The second option is to hire your local professional (Yes, this means you have to tell your utmost bestfriend who dabbles in photograpy “no”). If you aren’t feeling adventurous with your engagement photos then go with your local professional as they have hundreds of creative ideas from past photo shoots. Whatever route you take just make sure you never take on a photographer that can “fit you in to their schedule” as they will have much less time in creating that special and romantic engagement photo shoot.
